Katie x Jungle Tribe Collab Custom Leather Mask: Glamorous Spider

From the Designer:
This project was a very fun and new process for me. As a makeup artist, I have always envied painters, music producers, any mediums where the artist can get their creative alone time to work on something and flow. In makeup, you are always balancing the energy of another person. This project allowed me the opportunity to express myself and my concept in a way that felt very familiar and attainable to my skillset. Gem and embellished makeup looks have become something I specialize in so I knew that would be the direction I went in terms of materials. Mixed in are patterns of astrological signs, pieces I have worn in my makeup looks for special occasions, and some I have collected from travels. The mask is sort of an alter ego of myself. There are parts of it that mirror my personal style, elements of how I do my own makeup, messages about my beliefs and lifestyle, and some tributes to my partner and some close friends. The blue eyeliner symbolizes my newfound Egyptian heritage. The safety pins, chains, and spikes symbolize the stack of gold necklaces I wear in my daily look and represent unexpected personality traits that can lie beneath a tough exterior in many of the friends and life experiences I have encountered. The lollipop and gummy bear were a fun way I could accessorize the feeling of the spirit of the mask and include the fun childlike side of Halloween we all love.
